I’ve always been fascinated by cemeteries too. My boyfriend and I are planning a trip to central Europe and I was hoping we’d make it to Romania but I don’t think it will happen this trip. The Merry Cemetery looks fascinating. https://cimitirulvesel-sapanta.com/galerie/

That cemetery is pretty amazing. I like the little gardens with each grave. I remember cemeteries in Germany and Hungary being pretty interesting.

Where have you been in that part of Europe? We’re planning to fly in to Munich and want to see Vienna, Prague, Slovenia (Lake Bled and Llubljana) possibly Budapest and Bratislava. Would love any recommendations you’re willing to share! Thanks!

In Germany I used to fly into Frankfurt for business and traveled to Munich, Berlin. Dresden near Berlin was very beautiful. Salzburg (Austria) was also beautiful. Budapest was also very interesting. Innsbruck was also beautiful. I did this travel in the 90’s so I can imagine things have changed quite a bit.

The tree and the baskets are magnificent! I'm so glad the basket making tradition is being passed on. I, too, find comfort in visiting cemeteries, especially the very old ones.

Those ladies were amazing to watch work. The baskets take a long time to complete. I told one lady about the quilt making in the Amish community, describing it takes weeks to complete. She was unaware and was going to look it up when she got home!
